Since our launch during Kentucky Derby week in 2007–in which victory was predicted for the consistently honest Street Sense–HORSERACEINSIDER.COM has been Thoroughbred racing’s original stand-alone source of information and commentary on issues having a deep impact on horseplayers and racing enthusiasts alike.

Subsequently, HRI often has been imitated but never duplicated. Today, many horse racing sites have either incorporated the term Insider in its brand or have a section devoted to being honest brokers for change. However, organizations with a vested interest and close ties to the industry cannot afford to speak independently.

HORSERACEINSIDER.COM boasts of a three-man full-time staff that have won awards in prior journalistic endeavors as mainstream media reporters, columnists and handicappers. From inception, HRI never was afraid to speak truth to power. It may have hurt us at the bottom line but passion remains a prime motivator and lynchpin for focus.

A search of HRI’s original archives will show a series of exposes in defense of a horseman who was wrongfully stripped of his right to make a living; advocacy for independent, out-of-competition testing of participants, and ideas that suggest solutions to address the scourge of horse slaughter. This has been our mission from Day 1. Nothing has changed.
