Newsday’s first Thoroughbred racing handicapper, John Pricci was a dual award-winning journalist in a 17-year career at the multiple Pulitzer Prize- winning newspaper. While there, he, with creator-host Harvey Pack, did the pilot program for “Thoroughbred Action,” the first nightly horseracing replay show in America. In addition to his duties as executive editor, columnist, and featured handicapper at HRI, John is racing analyst for WNYT-CH-13’s, NBC-TV’s affiliate in Albany, NY during the Saratoga racing season. Additionally, his three-decades association as a racing analyst, John is  a regular guest on “Rodger Wyland’s Big Board Sports” radio sports talk show, 104.5 FM-The Team, ESPN’s radio affiliate in the Capital District. John is the proud father of two daughters and In addition to five decades as a Thoroughbred racing professional, John is the proud father of two daughters and a wife, Toni, married on Super Bowl Sunday, 1969. “J-E-T-S, Jets, Jets, Jets.”
